It was a busy day in the Resource Room!
As part of our Daily 5 100 minute Literacy Block, we did 20 minutes of independent reading.  This Maple Grove Grizzly joined us!
We learned how to login to the math game called Prodigy, which is aligned to the Ontario Math Curriculum and is also a fun way to build skills.
Mrs. Hetu was busy as well, assisting students with all of their literacy needs!

Intermediate Trip to Fort Willow!

The Intermediate students traveled to Fort Willow on Friday September 12th.  They experienced a variety of hands-on activities, including candle and rope making.  It was chilly weather, but great for eating corn on the cob, roasted over an open fire!

COPPER SUNRISE PROJECT

Our combined multiple intelligence/higher order thinking project is drawing to a close.  The students were creative when selecting their tasks through the rubric and were very successful in showcasing the novel in a variety of interesting and provocative ways, such as role playing, 3D models, auto raps, Bitstrips and picture books.  Well done!!

Tangram Board Game Project

It was great fun creating and playing our Tangram Board Games with Mrs. Elson's Grade 1 class.  The students enjoyed the "good" and "bad" cards directing them around the board while learning about the various properties of the 2 D shapes.  The Learning Centre students proved again to be great leaders when showcasing their games!  Well done!
